Boy, there's nothing quite like tangentially related articles on the portrayal of certain female archetypes in anime to make me question my own (dubious) abilities and characterization! Not that second-guessing myself hasn't become a fourth pastime for me, of course; it's just that most of the time I'm not even aware to the possibility that I might not be aware that I'm doing it.

Honestly it's a little disconcerting to come up with something, take a look at it later, find something and not know whether its appearance was purely coincidental or added subconsciously. Usually it's a bit more benign than (or at least different from) abject wish fulfillment regarding what has been constantly, erroneously deemed "the fairer sex," but I guess that now I have something else to be paranoid about.
